Cricket Coach Vacancies

Due to ongoing growth, we are looking to appoint a number of Cricket Coaches to play a key role in developing an ambitious academy.

You will assist with delivering cricket to all academy members eleven months of the year in collaboration with the Head of cricket, whilst working to uphold the academy’s reputation and ethos.

You will already have previous experience of coaching in either a club or an academy setting and built a good relationship with students and parents throughout. To enlarge on this point, we are only interested in working with coaches who are patient, empathetic and want to be a part of an organisation that has human values.

1. To implement a fully inclusive, annual (indoor/outdoor), player-centered coaching program that is appropriate to the age, stage, ability and needs of the players.

2. To have knowledge and understanding of ECB Child Welfare policy (Safe Hands) procedures in relation to coaching responsibilities and adhere to coaching ratios and legal supervision ratios.

3. To conduct sessions in accordance with the appropriate FBA/ECB guidelines and best practices.

4. To perform all duties in an equitable manner and to actively promote the principles of equality amongst fellow coaches and appropriate adults

5. To ensure excellent communication between all parties is at the forefront of all activities.

6. Encourage the players to act in a sporting manner and ensure that the spirit of the game is promoted at all times.

7. Any issues that arise between players/coaches should be raised with the Academy director.

8. To umpire junior matches in the season to help improve knowledge and understanding, pre-match warm-ups/approach, team talks, game awareness, tactics, playing under pressure and captaincy.

9. To advise on the selection of players and giving all players opportunities in matches

10. Experienced minimum ECB level 2 qualified coach (or overseas equivalent) with coaching experience of a minimum of 3 years.

11. Up to date DBS, First Aid Certificate and Safeguarding Young Children Certificate

  1. Enthusiastic, positive, reliable, punctual, well-presented leader with good interpersonal skills

  2. Have good management and organisational skills

  3. Display a sound knowledge of cricket structures

  4. A confident communicator (not afraid of voicing opinions)
