FBA Take On The Army

Do you ever have one of those days when you feel you could take on the world? Well, we’ve taken our first step and booked a date to Take On The Army!

We are proud to announce that the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) are supporting FBA and kicking off our Opportunities and Possibilities (OPs) Calendar with an annual Army Careers Event and 20/20 Match on June 21st 2021. Our OP Events aim to mix it up (like we do) incorporating cricket fixtures, food for thought (and tummies), inspiration, contacts, community engagement and fun!

How’s that for our First BIG Event of the year?!!

How appropriate for our first one to be an Army OP! We already have a few Team Members looking at a career path in the Army and will be playing on the day – what a great experience!

This is a family friendly community event, so whether you’re interested in talking to the Army about Career opportunities and the recruitment process, or just want to come along and enjoy watching FBA Take On The Army, it’s going to be a fantastic evening. Friends, family and neighbours are all welcome to support some of our talented Croydon youth for this fantastic cricket match. It’s the longest day of the year, so fingers crossed for good weather and why not bring along a picnic? For all our events and with respect to our hosts at Riddlesdown Collegiate, all we ask is that you take ALL your rubbish home with you 😉

JOIN US ON Monday 21st June from 4.30pm (Match at 5pm):

  1. Army Careers and Recruitment Information and Advice

  2. 20/20 Cricket Match: FBA V The Army

  3. Ice-Cream Van

  4. Bring a Picnic!

The REME Women’s Team just won the Army Championships, so as well as the Army Career Truck answering your questions about opportunities and life in the Army, we may have a few Champions coming along to cheer on the Teams and talk to you about their roles, both in the Army and on the cricket field.

Gate entry is free but we are selling T-shirts so you can support us and look the part! All funds go towards FBA’s work, reaching, coaching and mentoring young people in Croydon – increasing engagement through diversity, improving ability and impacting lives.
